The award ceremony of the best university teachers was held in Astana. 27 teachers of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University were also recognized as the best in the republican competition out of 775 applicants. Senior lecturer of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Aliya Omirbekova took part in the competition. The winning 150 teachers were awarded 6 million tenge. The awards were presented by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek.

In addition to financial incentives, teachers were awarded badges. It should be noted that by the decision of the republican competition commission, such indicators as the development and publication of electronic educational resources, educational materials, scientific publications in domestic and international journals, the availability of patents for inventions, etc. were evaluated at the competition. The quality of the candidate's education was also evaluated, as well as his achievements in the training of personnel in bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies.
