On February 24, the university library hosted an event for school graduates «Open Day» in order to inform students about future professions, familiarize them with the features and advantages of specialties in demand by society, the direction of choosing a profession in professional terms.

The program of the event «Open Day» includes: the heading of familiarization with the university; the intellectual quiz «Al-Farabi and modernity» test determining the type of future profession» (via QR code), an introductory tour of the university base, a meeting with the writer-ethnographer and public figure Zeynep Akhmetova.

Demonstration performances of active students of the faculty in the format of expressive advertising on the topic «My pride is my profession», which reveal the content of the event, the test «determining the type of future profession», a motivational appeal of the formula for achieving the program «academic mobility», a brief interview with the famous film club O. Boretsky about his activities and continuity with the students of the faculty, a rubric of questions quizzes concerning the cognitive life and works of Al-Farabi, speeches of foreign students studying at our faculty.

Within the framework of the event, ethnographer and public figure Zeynep Akhmetova met with young students and students.

At the beginning of the event, an exhibition was organized for schoolchildren. Illustrative materials about the professions of the faculty were presented, videos of the breath of professions were broadcast. The exhibition presented the best scientific works of faculty scientists, a catalog of student achievements, interesting and informative materials of the corner «cooperation with foreign countries». In addition, during the exhibition, the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies presented exhibits of the religious and cultural museum «Rukhorda» (based on handmade products of doctoral students of the department), exhibits «ancient valuable relics», a corner of the educational and practical encyclopedia (magazines and encyclopedias published by scientists and students of the department), an exhibition of national products reflecting culture the peoples of the world.

During the exhibition, a master class on the art of making ceramics and carpentry was demonstrated.

At the end of the event «Open Day», the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science for Scientific, Innovative and International Relations Aigul Alchimbayeva thanked the guests, the organizing departments and active students, Mrs. Zeynep Akhmetova, who wished to attend this event specially and conducted an intellectual quiz «Al-Farabi and modernity» congratulated the winners who took part in the game, and were presented with thank-you letters.
