Visit by Professor Mohd Rusfan Mohd Nor (University of Malaya, Malaysia)

Within the framework of short-term programs, PhD, Professor and Head of Department of Islamic History and Civilization of the University of Malaya (Malaysia) Mohd Nor Mohd Roslan was invited to the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. He delivered a course of lectures “Inter Religious Relation & Islamic Coping Strategies and conducted consultations for students from the contingent of students, undergraduates or postgraduates of doctoral students from November 7 to Decembe 4, 2022 at the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies.

Dr. Mohd Ruslan Mohd Nor's academic interests include the Middle East, Islam and Multiculturalism, Muslim affairs, Religious Studies and Civilization. He has published several papers in internationally refereed journals, participated in research at the United States Institute of Religious Pluralism, University of California, Santa Barbara (2010), and has been a visiting scholar at various institutions such as the Al Maktoum Institute, Scotland (2009) and Minzu University, Beijing (2012-2013). He was awarded the MAPIM-KPT Award in 2018 for a book published in the Social Sciences category. He also received the prestigious Anugerah Academic Negara (AAN) 2018 award for his work The Significance of Islamic Jerusalem in Islam, published in 2017 by Univ of Malaya Press. Acts as foreign scientific consultant of doctoral students of the specialty "8D02204-Islamic Studies" Khumarkhan Zh. (2019-2022), Kurmanbek A.A. (2020-2023), Bolatzhan A. (2022-2025).
