Dialogue "The role and significance of religion in a secular state"
On November 15, the staff of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science took part in the dialogue platform «The role and significance of religion in a secular state", organized by the public foundation "SDC" on the initiative of the Prosecutor's Office of Almaty in the conference hall of Plaza Hotel Almaty. Among the speakers – senior lecturer of the department, PhD Elnar Berikbayev, who made a report on the topic "Kazakhstan's model of secularism is the basis for ensuring interfaith harmony" and 1st-year doctoral student of the specialty religious studies Al-Farabi Bolatzhan, who prepared a report on the topic «Securitization of Islam in the modern world». The discussion of the topic of the platform was attended by undergraduate students of the 3rd and 4th courses of the specialty of religious studies.
