Screening of the documentary «Sergei Shchukin. The Collector's Story»
On October 26, the Art Lane Gallery hosted the exhibition «Sergey Shchukin. The collector's Story». Teachers of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Sergazy Kudaibergenov and 4th year students of the specialty cultural studies took part in this event.
Many famous paintings of the French Impressionists, which are in the Hermitage Collection and the Moscow Museum of Fine Arts, were inherited from the collector Sergei Shchukin. According to estimates of the Sotheby's auction house, for 2012 the collection amounted to 8.5 billion USA dollars.
