The teachers of the department visited the unique historical and ethnographic complex of the Nomad ethnocenter

On April 30, teachers of the department, Professor Kalimash Begalinova, Acting associate Professor Nurlykhan Aljanova visited the unique historical and ethnographic complex ethnocenter Nomad, located in the foothills of Ushkonyr, Almaty region. Its creation is based on centuries–old traditions, culture and way of life of nomadic tribes of the Great Steppe - Saks, Usuns, Kangyu, Turks, Kazakhs and many others. Here everyone can learn how to weave pile and lint-free carpets, roll felt, participate in the preparation of traditional Kazakh dishes with their subsequent tasting.

At the NOMAD ethnocenter, teachers got acquainted with the history of the development of the military art of the nomads of the tribes of Saks, Usuns, Kangyu, Turks and Kazakhs – one of the key aspects of the life of our ancestors. A distinctive feature of the NOMAD ethnocenter is an integrated approach to the study and provision of knowledge to everyone on absolutely all aspects of the life of ancient nomads, one of the key components of which was their mobile home - a yurt.

Visiting the ethnocenter, the professors learned about its design, history of development, functional purpose and sacred meaning, but also to feel the whole flavor of the culture of the Kazakh people, thanks to a comprehensive immersion in an environment as close as possible to the natural living conditions of nomads.
