On January 12, 2021, teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners at their regular meeting discussed the article of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev "Independence above all". Teachers of the department R.Duyssenbayeva and A.Aidarova prepared reports in Kazakh and Russian, focusing on the key points of the speech of the Head of State and quoting the author. In conclusion, the discussion noted that the staff of the department unanimously supports all the theses formulated by the President of the country.

On 6.01.2020, at 11:00, an open educational lesson "Kazakhstan - the land of ancestors" was held on the ZOOM platform.

The open lesson was attended by teachers of the department, the senior curator of the faculty, students of the department and undergraduates of the PRC. The lesson outlined the historical path of Kazakhstan to Independence. The content of the lesson was very interesting.

Traditionally, at the beginning of December, the Department of language and General education of foreigners hosts an open day as part of the "Festival of languages and cultures". This year the event was dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Department and at the behest of time was held in an online format

 Since 1991, the Kazakh national University has been named after al-Farabi. Foreign students have always been interested in the question of why al-Farabi became the face of the leading University in Kazakhstan. Teachers of the Department of language and General education of foreigners always devoted curatorial hours to the personality of the scientist, where they talked about the main milestones of al-Farabi's life. This topic became especially relevant in the year of the 1150th anniversary of the great scientist of the East. Another educational event "Аl-Farabi - the great thinker of the East" was held with foreign students studying the Kazakh language. During the curatorial hour, students learned about the facts of the biography of the philosopher, mathematician, music theorist, "Second teacher", one of the largest representatives of medieval Eastern philosophy.

Teachers of the department of pre-university training of the faculty of pre-university training organized an educational hour "Eli suigen, Elin suygen Elbasy" dedicated to the Day of the First President.

Poetry Reading was organized by Teachout Woden, well known Professor of Union Institute & University (UI&U), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. The University of Cincinnati (UI&U) is a private research University located in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio State, USA. It is part of the Ohio state University system and the oldest institution of higher education in Cincinnati.

As you know, the Department of language and General education training of foreigners of the Faculty of pre-university education successfully operates clubs for educational work. The purpose of the clubs is to provide as much information as possible to students from abroad about Kazakhstan, the history, traditions and culture of the peoples living in the Republic and, above all, the Kazakh people.

One of the clubs for educational work is the Sayahat club. Usually the leaders of the club organize excursions, during which foreign students get acquainted with the sights of Almaty, go on excursions to the city of Turkestan, to the capital of the country, the city of Nur-Sultan. In terms of online training, teachers conduct virtual excursions. On October 30, 2020, one of these excursions to the exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the Kazakh Soviet artist Yevgeny Sidorkin was held. During the event, the audience got acquainted with the biographical data of the graphic artist, people's artist of Kazakhstan. Teachers demonstrated graphic works and illustrations for works of art. Foreign students took the information prepared by their mentors with great interest.

On October 27, 2020, curators-advisors held an introductory event "Faculty for foreign citizens", where they told the audience in detail about the faculty and the Department where they are studying. Students were interested in learning about the curriculum and academic calendar offered to them. The teachers focused on the main stages of the Department's development, told about the teachers and graduates. In conclusion, the mentors answered questions from the audience.

At the Department of Language and general education of foreigners of the Faculty of pre-university education, country clubs for educational work regularly hold educational events. On October 17, 2020, teachers and managers of the Center "history and culture of the region" together with the club "Sayakhat" introduced primary-level students studying the Kazakh language to the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, by holding the event "Nur-Sultan – the capital of independent Kazakhstan". The online format of the event allowed the audience to see a video, as well as a presentation about the history and present day of the main city of the country. As a rule, foreign students are very interested in everything related to the formation of the capital of Kazakhstan. During the event, teachers answered numerous questions from foreign citizens.

On October 17, 2020, the «Globus» intercultural communication club of the  Department of language and General education training of foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-University Education held an educational event "ABC of health. Caution: coronavirus!" for foreign students of advanced level of study in the framework of the Project "cult of a healthy body".
