On December 5-6 this year, the international forum “The need to study Chinese culture and focus on the theory and practice of cultural relations” was held online, organized by the Chinese center for cultural communication studies of Huazhong agrarian University, China. The forum was attended by 27 experts and scientists from Kazakhstan, the United States, Japan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries and regions, who shared their thoughts through a cloud conference. And more than 300 people took part through the Internet connection.

The conference mainly focused on the theory and practice of Chinese cultural communication in the context of globalization, including historical development, practical significance of the Chinese language, content system, practical characteristics, research of the Chinese language, literature and culture. They also discussed the reforms and practice of teaching Chinese in the context of a new humanitarian construction, ways to overcome communication barriers and promote intercultural communication.

The forum was attended by Matai Bulbul, senior lecturer of the Department of Chinese studies, PhD, al-Farabi Kazakh national University, faculty of Oriental studies, who made a report on the topic "Foreign students' knowledge of Chinese culture and modern Sinology". The report demonstrated the methods of teaching modern Chinese, which aroused great interest among the participants.

This international forum highlighted the importance of academic research for universities, the need to continue teaching and research in Chinese language and literature, and the need to continuously improve Chinese culture and its international relations.
