COVID-19 brought a lot of restrictions and upsets to the whole world, it was necessary to adjust plans for academic mobility, as the sending of students to study abroad was suspended. Despite the current situation in the world, students of the Department of The Far East of the Korean Department continue their studies at the Sookmyung Women's University through online courses.

The grant project for advanced study of the Korean language was launched in January 2020 and continues to this day due to the desire of our students to get to know the history and culture of Korea better. This project is implemented through the financial support of the Korean Foundation (KF) and Sookmyung Women's University (SMU). The University has an IEQAS (International Education Quality Assurance System) certificate confirming the status of an international educational institution. Online courses are developed according to the program of Sukmeng University; video lectures are given by professors from the above-mentioned University. The teaching staff includes masters and doctors of science who specialize in teaching Korean linguistics.

This course is designed for 15 training weeks of 3 hours per week. Training programs are carefully thought out, so it is strongly recommended to follow them completely, from beginning to end. The online course «Korean for foreigners (level 1) "is held on Mondays, the course" Korean for foreigners (level 3) "and" Korean for foreigners (level 6) " is held on Tuesdays. Online courses are attended by more than 50 students of the 1st and 3rd years of the Korean Department. At the end of the course, these subjects will be included in the transcript of students.
