At the Division of Korean Studies of the Department of the Far East, events were held dedicated to the Chuseok holiday and "Meeting between Sonbe and Hube". 

On 12 September, 2019 in the Large hall # 2, Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU, was held an annual initiation ceremony of the Division of Korean Studies, Department of the Far East under the name "Meeting between Sonbe and Hube" (meeting between freshman and senior students). All students from the 1^st to 4^th year participated in the event. Each course prepared musical numbers (K-pop, dance, playing dombra, congratulatory words, etc.) and so congratulated each other on the start of a new academic year, as well as on the enrollment of new students. Notably, this year the event was held along with Korean national holiday Chuseok (Harvest Day). There were Korean national dishes Songpyen and Injolmi, as well as various drinks. Through the event, all the students of the Department became friends, wishing each other success in the new academic semester. Congratulations to all students on the new academic year!
