21st Century Skills training course of Japan Foundation

Akhapov Erlan, a teacher of the division of Japan Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the al-Farabi KazNU, completed a three-week training course on 21st century skills at the Institute of Japanese Language Urawa of the Japan Foundation.

The Japan Foundation as part of its annual program announces scholarships and training programs for professionals from around the world, offering excellent opportunities to the best teachers of the Japanese language and Japanese studies leading researchers.

Lecturer in Japan Studies Ph.D. Yerlan Akhapov completed a three-week training course for the 2019-2020 Training program for Teachers of Japanese language on a specific Theme 1: 21 Century skills) of the Japanese Language Institute Urawa.

21st Century Skills - competency in the digital age, essential for the 21st century, recommended by ATC21. These skills include the tools and abilities students need to prepare to adapt to digital society on the eve of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In particular, it is aimed at improving and developing such skills as thinking, a professional career, and adaptation in a rapidly changing social life. For example, this includes critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, ICT work knowledge and skills, life and career design, personal and social responsibility (recognition and response to culture), and communication tools.

During the program, trainings were held on modern interactive teaching methods aimed at acquiring skills in the 21st century with professionals with advanced experience in this field. Following the results of the program all participants received a certificate of completion.
