On March 14, at 10:00 - 12:00 at the Oriental Studies Faculty of al-Farabi KazNU, a lecture was given by the Chinese Consul General in Almaty Mr. Zhang Wei on the topic "New formats of Kazakh-Chinese relations".

Students of the Far East Department once again deservedly took part in the 20th Kazakhstan oratory competition in the Japanese language.

Over the past five years, the number of graduates of the department of Japanese studies remains stable. "Piece" goods are the Japanologists of KazNU named after al-Farabi. Our graduates are very special, their level of knowledge of the Japanese language is very high, which is confirmed by the wins at the national and international competitions for knowledge of the Japanese language. The main thing remains on the branch - the tradition of continuity. Today, the specifics of visiting campaigns of the Department of the Far East is expanding.

At the Far East Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies in order to implement the strategic development of external academic mobility, as well as in accordance with the Cooperation Agreements with the Japanese Universities Tsukuba (17.02-11.03.2018) and Bunkyogakuin (12.03-19.03.2018) «Regional studies. Politics, Economics and Culture of Central Asia», with the issuance of certificates.

On March 6, 2018, the deputy director of the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the city of Astana, Doctor of Philosophy Professor Abuov Amerkul Ergeshovich arrived with a special visit to the Faculty of Oriental Studies of al-Farabi KazNU. 

March 5, 2018 at the Department of the Middle East and South Asia Faculty of Oriental Studies began the Week of Arabic. 

In order to realize the strategic development of the university, the development of external academic mobility, the Department of the Far East of the Oriental Studies Faculty initiated the winter school in the school year 2017-2018 academic year.

March 2, 2018 at the Faculty of Oriental Studies was held a scientific and practical conference "The significance of the decisions of the XIX Congress of the CPC in Kazakh-Chinese relations", organized by the Center for Contemporary China Studies.

10 students took part in the annual republican subject olympiad on the specialty "Foreign Languages" at the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages ​​named after Abylai Khan in the section of the Japanese language on behalf of the Far East Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after al-Farabi.
