Social and educational work
The Sustainable Development Goals are a kind of call to action coming from all countries - poor, rich and moderately developed. It aims to improve the well-being and protection of our planet. Governments recognize that action to end poverty must go hand in hand with efforts to increase economic growth and address a range of issues in education, health, social protection and employment, as well as combating climate change and protecting the environment.

On October 29, 2022, a group of teachers led by Leyla Kudreyeva participated in a charity fair organized by the League of Volunteers. Proceeds from charity fairs, activists of League donated food and clothing to poor or needy families. |

On October 13, 2022, in order to achieve goal 3 "Good health and well-being", students and teachers of the department participated in the "Donor Day" event. As part of this event, students and teachers of the department voluntarily donated blood to the Blood Center. |

On December 19-21, 2022, the Department of Analytical, Colloid Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements hosted the International Winter School «SCIENCE. RESEARCH. PUBLICATION.». The participants of the winter school were trained in the organization and planning of scientific research, the correct interpretation of the results and their publication in high-ranking journals, received advisory and methodological assistance. The speakers of the winter school were leading scientists from Kazakhstan and abroad. The winter school was attended by teachers, staff and PhD students of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, Zhusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University, Makhtumkuli Turkmen State University, Ya. Kakaev International University of Oil and Gas and universities of Kazakhstan. To achieve goal 4 "Quality education" teachers of the Department of Analytical, Colloidal Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements Associate Professor Alilbekova A.O., Senior Lecturer Yesimova O.A. and students visited Goldman and Young LLP, which develops and manufactures high-quality products for a wide range of chemical products, including household chemicals, personal care products, and disinfectants. Students of the educational programs "Chemistry", and "Chemical Technology of Organic Substances" were given comprehensive information about the products, methods of product development, and methods of their analysis. In addition, students, together with the staff of the laboratory for the development of the range of products and the laboratory for quality control, developed a dishwashing detergent, independently selecting the necessary ingredients of the product created. |

On June 21, 2023, as part of achieving Goal 4 "Quality education" the Department of Analytical, Colloid Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements organized a round table "Issues of teaching: features and problems of teaching, monitoring the achievements of doctoral and master's students". The purpose of the round table was to discuss and exchange experience, vision and plans for the development of methods and forms of teaching the disciplines of the department based on the results of the academic year. The main message was to create an environment for specialists for an informal and effective exchange of opinions and practices At the Round Table, the problems of organizing the educational process, types of classes and the form of their conduct, issues of evaluating the results of intermediate and final controls, requirements for the design of teaching materials, etc. were discussed in detail. |

The event is dedicated to the achievement of Goal 5 “Gender Equality”. |

On May 30, 2023, students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the specialty "Chemical Engineering" began an internship at the National Center for the Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials. During the practice, students will get acquainted with the main processes and apparatuses of the chemical industry. As part of the practice, a meeting was held with the Laureate of the State Prize, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zharmenov A.A. The students' internship is organized within the framework of achieving the sustainable development goal "Decent work and economic growth". |

Students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology in the educational programs "6B07201 - Technology of Pharmaceutical Production", "6B07104 - Chemical Technology of Organic Substances" (Russian, Kazakh groups) and "6B07202 - Food Chemistry and Technology (NKU)" under the guidance of Yessimova O.A. and Tattibaeva Zh.A. undergo industrial practice on the basis of Kelun-KazPharm LLP. On the first day, all production safety rules were mentioned and the laboratory and production workshops were presented. In the quality control department, modern instruments of physical and chemical methods and sampling methods were demonstrated. Most of the main specialists are graduates of our faculty. The students' internship is organized within the framework of achieving the sustainable development goal "Decent work and economic growth". |

Within the framework of the International School "Carbon-mineral nanostructured composites from plant and mineral raw materials for the production of elastomers", 07.11 - 12.11.2022, by the Department of Analytical, Colloid Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology together with the Center for Physical and Chemical Methods of Research and Analysis, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized and conducted a refresher course for foreign students. Participants (offline, online format) were lecturers, staff and graduate students of the Belarusian State Technological University, as well as lecturers, PhD students, undergraduates and bachelors of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. Speaking to the participants of the International School, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi KazNU Associate Professor Alina Galeeva noted that the integrated use of natural resources and the creation of waste-free technologies is an urgent task of modern industries and expressed confidence that such an exchange of experience and opinions will help increase the level of competence and qualification of participants in accordance with professional requirements and current achievements science, engineering and technology. Presentation of Telko". Within the framework of the seminar, a presentation by Telko was presented, global trends in cosmetics and household chemicals were shown, master classes were held on “Leave-on 2-phase conditioner for hair and lotion for polishing surfaces”. On April 19-21, 2023, the traditional Republican Subject Olympiad was held at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. 12 teams of students studying under the program "Chemistry" competed in each city of the country. The organizers of the first and second stages of the subject Olympiad in the section "Analytical Chemistry" were the Department of Analytical, Colloid Chemistry and Technology of Rare Elements. Associate professors of the department Badavamova G.L., Ismailova A.G. The report in the theoretical part was of an applied nature, and in the practical part, the students honed their skills in working in the laboratory. The work presented at the laboratory stage was performed at a high level, the participants were satisfied with the presentation of the work, its implementation and equipment. The main goal of organizing the Republican Subject Olympiad is not only to identify gifted students, but also to provide equal opportunities for everyone who wants to take part in the Olympiad. The Subject Olympiad is organized within the framework of achieving the goal of “Reducing Inequality”. |

The seminar was held with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America in the Republic of Kazakhstan to achieve the goal "Combat climate change" . |

On April 14, 2023, the undergraduates of the department carried out educational work with bachelor students and schoolchildren on making birdhouses with their own hands. The purpose of this event is to instill respect for nature and its inhabitants. To develop the ability to work in a team among students and schoolchildren and improve the organizational skills of undergraduates. Students and schoolchildren independently made birdhouses from boards and nails, using various tools. The event was held as part of the achievement of the goal "Preservation of terrestrial ecosystems". |
