On October 4, 2023 at 16.00 at the Faculty of International Relations of al-Farabi Kazakh National University will be held a leadership lecture by the famous Kazakh political figure, candidate of political sciences and current Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Nurlan Bayuzakovich Yermekbayev on the topic “China’s foreign policy initiatives in contemporary international relations system.” Considering, on the one hand, the neighborhood factor between Kazakhstan and China, as well as the strengthening of Beijing’s geopolitical role in international affairs, this speech seems especially relevant. At the same time, extensive political experience of Nurlan Yermekbayev adds extra interest to the upcoming lecture. Let us recall that at one time he also held the positions of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Defense, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan and headed the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the PRC.
