The fact is that previously the core discipline of the specialty «International Law» was «English», which automatically predetermined the future choice, but its change to the discipline «Man, society and law» led to a coincidence with the core subject for admission to the Faculty of Law.
Secondly, the training program for international lawyers includes a mandatory list of disciplines in the field of foreign policy, diplomacy, foreign regional studies and the world economy, which requires teachers who have a diploma not only in law, but for the most part in international law. It should be considered that in interdisciplinary subjects, teachers of the Department of International Relations, World Economy, Regional Studies, the Department of Diplomatic Translation, as well as international practitioners are also involved in teaching students.
Third, the training of international lawyers, unlike traditional lawyers, requires students to have mandatory knowledge of a foreign language to choose to study a selected specialized legal profile in one of the selected foreign languages. Bachelor’s degree
Training of specialists capable of performing professional functions of an international lawyer with knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, a foreign language in government agencies and non-governmental organizations, law enforcement agencies, courts, arbitrations, in Kazakhstani, foreign and international companies. Graduates of the bachelor's degree program have cognitive, functional and systemic competencies in researching various issues of international law, improving the legal framework for cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and other states based on compliance with the principles of international law; negotiating dispute settlement, concluding foreign economic transactions, performing representative, lawyer and other professional legal functions.
Master’s degree
Training of scientific and pedagogical personnel in the field of international law, capable of conducting research, carrying out pedagogical activities, also in demand for work in the field of international law, jurisprudence and foreign policy, professionally proficient in foreign languages. The program is aimed at meeting the needs of government, law enforcement agencies, state and non-State institutions, ministries and departments dealing with international law and foreign policy, organizations dealing with the protection of human rights and freedoms, law enforcement, international and national security.
PhD Doctoral degree
Training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel engaged in fundamental scientific research in the field of modern international law, proficient in the methodology of scientific knowledge, applying scientific methods in the study of problems of international law in the activities of government agencies, international organizations, research institutes, higher educational institutions and various enterprises.
