From September 21 to September 23, 2023 Institute of State and Law named after. G.S. Sapargaliev held the First Republican Youth Olympiad on the topic “The relationship between national interests and international legal obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”5 groups from leading universities in Kazakhstan took part, each consisting of 4 people. The Olympiad brought together young scientists and students who arrived with their own unique ideas and ambitions.

The first stage of the event provided participants with the opportunity to analyze the relationship between national interests and the activities of the country's key bodies, legal institutions and transnational corporations in the Caspian Sea sector. Particular attention was paid not only to political and economic aspects, but also to state initiatives of Kazakhstan, as well as analysis of the successful experience of countries such as the UAE and Norway.

The second stage invited participants to dive deeper into the legal aspect of the activities of metallurgical organizations. Issues of ownership and compliance of local legislation with international standards were discussed here. The participants demonstrated a high level of expertise, identifying key aspects requiring further study and development.The third stage provided an atmosphere of debate and exchange of views, giving participants the chance to creatively argue their positions on previous topics. This stage was not only a test of knowledge, but also showed the participants’ ability to analyze and argue their own views in complex legal situations.The results of the Olympiad were summed up by an independent jury consisting of 5 experts. All participants were awarded certificates and prizes.

The first place winners were also rewarded with cash prizes and a valuable book.This Olympics has become not only a competition, but also an open platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas. She contributed to the development of international law and education in the Republic of Kazakhstan.We thank the Institute of State and Law named after. G.S.
