On May 19, 2021, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an International scientific and practical online conference "Olzhas Suleimenov-poet and citizen", dedicated to Olzhas Omarovich Suleimenov’s 85th anniversary, poet and writer, scholar, holder of the title "Man of the XXI Century", President of the International Anti-Nuclear Movement "Nevada-Semey", Director of the International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO.

Zh. K. Tuimebayev , the rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University made an introductory speech. Aida Balayeva, Minister of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, writer Rollan Seysenbayev, Tlectes Espolov, the Rector of KazNAU, Absattar Derbisali, Director of the Center "Arabistics" of KazNU, Murat Zhurinov, President of the Academy of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Didier Cannes, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan, Yevgeny Sidorov, the member of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, Elena Seifert, Ulugbek Esdaulet, Professor of RSUH, Chairman of the Joint Venture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other well-known scientists and public figures made speeches at the plenary session.

Within the framework of the conference, scientific reports of literary critics and linguists on the achievements and prospects of modern Suleimenov studies, the semantics of the poet's artistic worlds, the dialogue of Olzhas Suleimenov with other Russian-speaking poets of Kazakhstan, technologies for studying the lyrics of Olzhas Suleimenov in modern Kazakh schools were listened and discussed during section sessions.
