Kitap Fest 2024, held in Almaty on September 14-15, celebrated its 10th anniversary. It is the largest book forum in the country. For comparison, 7 publishing houses participated in the first festival, and 70 this year. Sophomore students of the Department of Publishing, Editorial and Design Arts of the Faculty of Journalism attended the event to keep abreast of all publishing innovations. The festival was dedicated to the theme "The Book of the Future" and brought together more than 50 thousand visitors. The event brought together 70 publishers and bookstores, as well as more than 100 opinion leaders. In two days, about 50 new books were presented, as well as autograph sessions, exhibitions, workshops and meetings with writers.

The festival program included a variety of activities such as book exchange, performances by famous Kazakhstani authors and coaches, an evening of poetry, an exhibition of rare books and illustrations. The author's comics, which joined a number of participants of the book festival, also attracted attention. Workshops for children, intellectual games and contests were also held.

Special attention was drawn to the "Auylga Kitap" campaign, in which the collected books will be sent to rural schools in Kazakhstan.
