November 21, 2023 at the Department of the Far East, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi KazNU., with the support of the Education Center of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, a quiz “Me and Korea” was held, organized by the professor Lee Byong Jo and students. 1st and 2nd year students were divided into 3 groups by drawing lots and competed among themselves. In total, the competition consisted of three stages. In the first stage, students listened to a short lecture on Korean history and answered questions, and in the second stage there were questions about Korean words. It was a word game where students looked at the first 2-3 Korean alphabets and suggested the correct words. The third stage was aimed at determining students' knowledge of Korean songs. Students answered questions regarding K-pop artists who are very popular among the world's youth. All student participants showed great interest and activity during the quiz. At the end of the event, all students who participated in the competition and its organization were awarded prizes.
