On the occasion of the 75th birthday of Yerengayip Omarov (Vice President of the National Academy of Natural Sciences of Kazakhstan), the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Development of Kazakhstan Science in the Field of Civilization" was held at the Kazakhstan National Library. Dr. Takashi Ninomiya (Invited Professor and Associate Professor, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University) participated in the conference. Representative presenters and their titles are as follows: Yelena Kaktuzinova (Director of the Center for European and Asian Studies, University of Reading, UK), " A scientist who studied civilization"; Klara Hafilzova (PhD in History, Professor), "The generation of Genghis Khan"; and Takashi Ninomiya, "The History of Japanese Writing as the Basis of Japanese Civilization." Ninomiya explained the history of the Japanese writing systems. Based on Kanji, the ideograms, the Japanese created Manyogana, a phonetic writing system, and then Hiragana and Katakana. This is similar to how the Akkadian people, who were active in the Mesopotamian civilization, created cuneiforms suitable for the Akkadian language. The Sumerians, who laid the foundation of the Mesopotamian civilization, created cuneiform, ideograms. The Akkadian created the phonetic cuneiform from the ideograms. The Japanese created their own phonetic writing system based on Kanji characters, while the Akkadian created their own phonetic writing system based on Sumerian cuneiform.
