Cooperation is expanding

Recently, before the beginning of the new academic year 2021-22, at the Department of the Far East of the Oriental Studies Faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. There was a meeting with guests-doctors from the Dongsan Medical Center (Director Choi Eunju) in Almaty. During the meeting, the ceremony of awarding korean masks (KF94) from the Dongsan Medical Center, which opened in 1995 in Almaty, took place.


The history of the Medical center "Dongsan" in Korea begins in 1899, since the medical house "Chechungwon" was opened by a medical doctor-missionary (Dr. Woodbrige O. Johnson, 1869-1951) in Daegu, located in the southern part of the Republic of Korea. The medical directions of this Medical Center "Dongsan" include ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology, neurology, dentistry and urology, and the main hospital is located on the territory of Keimyung University in Daegu.

The Department of the Far East(Korean Studies) was provided with 1,000 korean masks in the amount of 2,000$.They will be useful for students and teachers of the department who start classes in an offline format from the autumn semester in a coronavirus situation. For the Department of the Far East, the Dongsan Medical Center is a new partner of cooperation, which will continue in the future. Congratulations to the Department of the Far East(Korean Studies)!
