02/17/2020.  At the Far East department faculty of Oriental studies al-Farabi Kazakh National University started South Korea thematic week.

 The week began with the intellectual holiday "Korea and I" for 1st year students.  The event was organized by 2nd year students under the direction of senior lecturer Tashkenbaeva B.Zh. The organization and funding were prepared with the participation of visiting professor from Korea, Lee Byong Jo. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the social and cultural life of modern Korea, not only students 

Presentation was about on the features of Korea.  Students were divided equally into 4 groups which were asked interesting questions about Korean history, customs, current popular k-pop groups and dramas.  At the end of the competition, winners were determined and everyone received prizes.  The event was completed with Korean songs and dances.
