Senior lecturer of the Department of the Far East Park T. wrote about student life on academic mobility in Korea (about a 4th-year student Rosieva Venera)

A lecturer at the Korean branch of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Umitai Amirbekova wrote and published an essay entitled "Knowledge is the beginning of the future."  She wrote about how the global pandemic has impacted student learning.  Despite studying online, we can see the passion for knowledge and youth of students, which is very pleasing.  Freshmen moving to a new stage in their lives thank the teachers of the department for the knowledge they have acquired and express their pleasure that they are studying at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. We believe that our students by the end of their studies will become competitive and demanded specialists who will represent Kazakhstan.

Professor of the Department of the Far East of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Lee Byong Jo wrote and published an essay about the event  "Graduate Day" of the Korean department.  Graduate Day took place through the Zoom app at 11 am at the department level and at 12 am at the undergraduate level.  The event was attended by teachers of the department, graduates of previous years, who sent their sincere congratulations, as well as students of all courses who shared their talents.  Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Y.  M. Paltore and other teachers of the department were preparing for the first online event for a very long time and the “Graduates Day” which lasted 3 hours was held at a high level.

On October 16, 2020, under the leadership of curator-adviser Tazabekova G.B., an online conference on the topic "Problems of Japanese society" will be held for 2-year students of the Department of Japanese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies. 

On October 10, 2020, the curator-adviser of the 3rd year of the Japanese Studies Department held another curatorial hour with the 3rd year students. During the curatorial hour, the peculiarities of distance learning were discussed, each student shared his opinion. 

In 2007 in collaboration with japanese language educational institutions worldwide The Japan Foundation has founded “JF Nihongo Network (Sakura Network)”.

The objective of “Sakura Network” is to provide the opportunity to study Japanese language and to improve the quality of teaching Japanese abroad. Any educational institution that plays a significant role in teaching Japanese in their region/country can become a part of that project.
