 KazNU and the Russian University of NRNU MEPhI are launching a double diploma program in the IT areas of Information Security Systems and Information Systems. NRNU MEPhI is the strongest technical university in Russia, whose graduates work in the world's largest IT companies, including Yandex, Kaspersky Lab, SAP, Microsoft, HUAWEI and others. The CTF teams of NRNU MEPhI are known worldwide for their success at the largest competitions in applied information security. According to the rating of SuperJob agency, the average salary of graduates of IT-fields at NRNU MEPhI is 850 000 KZT.

In the Department of Information Systems of the Faculty of Information Technology for the 2019-2020 academic years was launched a new international program called "Computationl Linguistics". In August, passed a set to this educational program and as a result of 7 undergraduates chose this program.

Al-Farabi KazNU held a huge celebration of Nauriz! Together with representatives of the Diplomatic corps and International Organizations, an apple orchard was planted. The grand event was dedicated to the biennium of the program «Ruhani Zhangiru» and the main provisions of the Elbasy’s article «Seven Facets of the Great Steppe».

As the First President N.Nazarbayev highlighted: «... the foothills of the Alatau are the historical homeland of apples and tulips» and it is quite symbolic that the holiday began with the planting of an apple orchard. Representatives of foreign Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited in Kazakhstan, and prominent public figures and scholars, veterans and graduates of different years, representatives of the Media, teachers, students and their parents took part in it. They have planted more than 300 saplings of different varieties of apple trees, as well as valuable and decorative trees on campus alleys.

From April 2 to April 12, 2019, the VI International Farabian Readings will be held at KazNU.The annual holding of a large-scale event at a leading Kazakhstan university has become a good tradition. For six years, Farabian readings have gained wide international fame and popularity among universities in the world and the scientific community.In the year of the 85th anniversary of KazNU, major international scientific events will be held within the framework of the Farabian readings, designed to unite the efforts of Kazakhstani and foreign scientists in solving global problems of the development of society, the state and the individual.

Today, the 85th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the literary and musical evening dedicated to the Year of Youth of the project “Musical Evening in Mechmat” took place at the Faculty of Information Technologies. Students of 1-3 courses of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory were guests of our national arts- performed Kui and traditional songs.
