On May 21, 2020 the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with the National University of Uzbekistan held the international scientific-practical conference "Socio-philosophical problems of the further development of interethnic harmony, national, religious and political tolerance in Uzbekistan" as part of the project "Formation of citizens of a virtuous society”.

The conference was attended by scientists, professors from many universities in Russia, Canada, also from Central Asian countries, Dagestan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, Kazakhstan. The issues of tolerance, interreligious relations, ethno-religious tolerance, cultural dialogue against religious extremism, national values, and the culture of the East were discussed at this international conference.
