Within the framework of V International Farabi Readings (3-13 April, 2018) Professor of Texas Tech University (USA), PhD Costica Bradatan was invited for lecturing for MA and PhD students on the Department of Religious and Cultural studies. His lectures were dedicated to the theme «In Praise of Failure and Exile». Professor`s main scientific interests are problems of religion`s philosophy (Gnosticism; transformation; martyr & voluntary death; confrontation with death; religious violence; sacrifice; ludens alchemy; philosophical apologetics; "God of philosophy" and "God of religion", religion and cinema; secularization / post-secularism), theology, philosophy`s history, philosophy and cinema. He is an author of next books: «In Praise of Failure», «Dying for Ideas. The Dangerous Lives of the Philosophers» (the book was translated in five languages), «The Other Bishop Berkeley. An Exercise in Reenchantment», «Isaac Bernstein’s Diary», «An Introduction to the History of Romanian Philosophy in the 20-th Century».
