On March 28, 2018 at the Library of al-Farabi KazNU was hold the Annual Republican "Cultural studies" Olympiad among students of Higher Educational Institutions. In total, students from six universities took part in the Olympiad, among which are al-Farabi Kazakh National University, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, T.K. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, S. Toraigyrov Pavlodar State University, Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical University and Academy of Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The team "Astana", which represented the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies of al-Farabi KazNU took the first place, the second place was shared among students of the S. Toraigyrov PSU and the Academy of the Border Guard Service, the third place was taken by T.K. Zhurgenov KazNAA, Women's Pedagogical University and L.N. Gumilev ENU. The Olympiad consisted of five stages, each of which was evaluated on 10-point scale by the Jury Commission chaired by the academic secretary of the Central State Museum of the Republiс of Kazakhstan - Galiya Temirtonkyzy.
