September 8, 2023 at the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management were held lectures on "Sustainable Development Goals" in which participated faculty members of the departments of the faculty:

  • Koshim А.Ғ, Professor "Desertification processes in the Republic of Kazakhstan: factors, consequences and ways to solve problems (SDG 13)";
  • Dr.B.Sc., Associate Professor Sadyrova G.A., Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Tazhibaeva T.L. "Ecological sustainability of cities and biological safety of the population (SDG 11)";
  • D.K. Jusupbekov, Ph, Ph.D., Associate Professor "Ensuring availability and rational use of water resources (SDG 6, SDG 14)";
  • Tokpaev Zufar "Current and planned measures to combat climate change and its consequences in Kazakhstan (SDG 13)";
  • Abubakirova K.D., Dr. of Agricultural Sciences, Professor "Formation of sustainable cities and settlements in accordance with SDG 11 (on the example of creating Almaty agglomeration)".

This event is timed to coincide with the Literacy Day. The date was established by a resolution of the UNESCO General Conference in 1966. On this day in 1965, the World Conference of Ministers of Education on the Elimination of Illiteracy opened in Tehran.
