It was a new format of a dialogue of cultures within the student community. Forms of further development of the culture of Kazakhstan and Russia were discussed for the preservation of original national cultures, their ability to become familiar with the tendencies of globalization without affecting the national culture. It is no accident that the round table was held on St. Valentine's Day to show that domestic holidays should be supported precisely by young people. Popular international cultural phenomena replace national ones or turn them into international ones. The focus of the round table was: What cultural traditions can be a source of social modernization that allows a person not to be lost, but to adapt his way of life to the rapid changes of the modern world?

Mametbakieva Nargiz spoke with the topic "The New Generation: How to Become a Happy Persom?" Baybulatova Zhuldyz introduced the results of a study of popular social networks and the role of bloggers, Petrov Akif about independence and censorship in the media, Durachenko Galina on the confrontation between globalization and traditionalism, Murtazaev Ayan on the role of volunteering as a new form of activity for young people. At the end of the discussion moderator Kylyshbaeva B.N. summed up the results and all participants agreed that only a critical understanding of a powerful information flow and an active civil position would contribute to the modernization of public consciousness.
