Akhanov's readings "LANGUAGE, INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION AND NATIONAL IDENTITY: A VIEW TO THE FUTURE "

The Faculty of Philology and World Languages of al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Almaty, Kazakhstan) in cooperation with the Applied Linguistics Association of Kazkahstan (Almaty, Kazakhstan), Taraz University of Innovation and Humanities (Taraz, Kazakhstan), Kings College London (London, England), Aitmatov Academy (London, England), Vienna University of Economics and Business (Vienna, Austria), Istanbul University and Al-Farabi Center for Eurasian Research of Istanbul University (Istanbul,Turkey) are pleased to host the 21st Annual International Conference Akhanov’s Readings which will take place on April 5-6, 2018 at al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty in the framework of the 5th International Conference «Farabi World».

The conference Language, Intercultural Communication and National Identity: a view to the future aims to bring together researchers and teachers from all over the world who are interested in such problems in the field of both general linguistics and its applied areas.

The conference program includes various topics related to all areas of linguistics and education, covering globalization and integration in social life, the reflection of these processes in the language and intercultural communication, traditions and innovations, the issues of global and national identity, the universality of language and culture, the particular culture, a foreign language teaching, aspects of applied linguistics. The conference will consider the following priority areas:

Qualifying round of the Olympiad in the Russian language

THE 1ST ROUND OF THE REPUBLICAN INTELLECTUAL OLYMPIAD "THE BEST LINGUIST - 2018" WAS HELD IN KAZNU

    It is recalled that one of the main tasks of modern education is the education of a multilingual competitive specialist, capable of dynamically orienting himself in a new linguistic, political, economic and social environment. In this regard, a number of events (olympiads, contests, round tables, seminars, etc.) are held in one of the leading universities of the country - the Kazakh National University, among which the special place is the annual intellectual Olympiad «the best linguist - 2018» which conducted within the framework of the "Young Linguist" club's activity of the Department of General Linguistics and European Languages ​​of KazNU and the Center for Russian Language and Culture at the University (Director, Ph.D. Umatova JM). Members of the club are students, undergraduates, PhD students which interested in the problems of modern linguistics. The scientific advisors of the club are the teachers of the department - Doctor of Philology Zh.K. Ibraeva and Candidate of Philology M.K. Mambetova. The Olympiad is held with the purpose of revealing and developing students' creative abilities and interest in research activities, promoting knowledge of languages, and promoting the professional orientation of future specialists.
