JSC "NCSCT" is the main practice base for undergraduates and doctoral students of the Department of geography, land management and cadastre of the Kazakh National University "Institute of ionosphere".The institute has highly qualified scientific staff and specialists, which allows to conduct fundamental and applied scientific research at a high level on the ground-space Geodynamic and geophysical monitoring of the Earth's crust of Kazakhstan, as well as on the interaction of geospheres (magnetosphere, ionosphere, atmosphere, lithosphere), mathematical modeling, the use of modern space and computer technologies.To date, the institute has 8 Scientific Laboratories:

• * Hydrodynamic Research Laboratory
• * Laboratory for the study of lithospheric-ionospheric processes
• * Laboratory for complex analysis of ground-space research data
• * Cartography and GIS laboratory
• * Laboratory of physics of geocosmic connections
• * Laboratory of reliability and safety of Orbital and ground-based Space Systems
• * Laboratory of non-stationary processes in the atmosphere and Ionosphere
• * Geomagnetic Research Laboratory

Undergraduates and doctoral students of the Department of geography, land management and cadastre conduct research practices mainly in the laboratory "Cartorgraphy and GIS" at the institute, as well as participate in major research projects.The main research area of the cartography and GIS laboratory is: ground-space monitoring of man-made processes in urbanized territories and assessment of the state of large technical facilities using satellite, hephysical data and mathematical modeling methods. During the implementation of scientific projects in the laboratory, as well as in the processing of satellite images in the field of ground-based space monitoring, work is carried out with GIS products such as Snap toolbox, ENVI 4.7, ERDAS Imagine, etc. This, in turn, will help magsitrants and doctoral students in their dissertation work.
