University of Tsukuba (Japan)
On January 28, 2020, professors of the faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of Al-Farabi Kazakh National university had a meeting with professors from the University of Tsukuba (Japan). Professor Dr. Teruo Higashi University shared his experience and views in the field of his research area. The possibilities of university cooperation and joint research were discussed. Interesting proposals came about the introduction of the practice of double diploma students. The professors of Tsukuba University showed the existing practice of the master's education program based on the cooperation of four universities (University of Tsukuba, Shinshu University, Shizuoka University, University of Yamanashi). One of the main goals of the program is to educate masters who will be able to contribute to solving problems associated with environmental changes in mountainous areas as a result of human activities. Professors have shown interest in conducting research and practical internships for students. This meeting contributed to the prospect of developing joint activities of our universities in scientific area and educational processes.
