Press release on the international conference GISCA 2021


On May 30 - June 2, 2021, the XV International Conference of GIS in Central Asia - GISCA 2021 «From Spatial Data to Spatial Infrastructure» will be held. The GISCA conference has been held annually since 2005, and this year will be held in a regionally distributed format in several cities of Central Asia (Bishkek, Urumqi, Almaty, Tashkent and Dushanbe) with the support of the Centre for GIS and Geoinformatics of the University of Salzburg and the Austrian-Central Asian Centre for Geoinformation Sciences - ACA * GIScience. The entire conference will be held on the Cisco Webex online platform.

The main objectives of the conference are to unite scientists, educators and GIS specialists from the countries of Central Asia and Europe, to support and encourage international cooperation, as well as to exchange experience and knowledge in the field of GIS education.

Within the GISCA 2021 conference, the experience and results of scientific research on the use of geoinformation technologies for regional research, conducted under the guidance of leading specialists of universities and scientific organizations of Central Asia, will be presented.

Accepted and peer-reviewed articles will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Selected papers will be recommended for publication in the International Journal of Geoinformatics and other Scopus-indexed journals.

The working language of the conference is English.

The participation is free.

The session in Almaty is scheduled for June 1, 2021 from 15.00-17.30 (local time).
