February 22, 2019 in the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the framework of the program “Ruhani Zangyru”, the VI research conference of schoolchildren “Young al-Farabi” on the topic “Youth is the future of Kazakhstan” was held.        

At the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology the section “Chemistry” was held, which was attended by schoolchildren from the cities of Kazakhstan: lyceum No. 126 (Almaty), NISH (Almaty), gymnasium No. 15 (Almaty), profile school KazNU (Almaty), No. 26 (Almaty), No. 175 (Almaty), NIS (Uralsk), Lyceum No. 131 (Almaty), Gymnasium No. 130 (Almaty). Schoolchildren demonstrated scientific works from different areas of chemistry.

The conference took into account such factors as the availability of a formalized work, novelty, relevance, the purpose of the work, the theoretical and experimental parts, the presence of a properly designed presentation, the speaker’s oratorical skills, and the correct answers to questions.

The practical part of most of the work was carried out at leading research institutes of the Republic. Among the works presented by schoolchildren, it particularly wanted to mention the work of a pupil of the 10th grade of the vocational school of the KazNU Amalbekova N. with the work “Auyrn mennay Kaldykynyn coke alu procesi” and a pupil ofprofile school of the 10th grade of gymnasium No. 175 in Almaty Muratbek D. with the work “Sudy tazaartuda beyorgankalyk sorbentterdi paidalanu”. These works were distinguished by high novelty and relevance.

According to the results of the conference, having scored maximum points in all parameters, I place was taken by a pupil of grade 8 of gymnasium No. 15 in Almaty, Ozbek Temirlan, with the work “Prospects for processing food waste in the conditions of a city apartment”.
