INTERNATIONAL RUSSIAN-KAZAKH SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE "CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGIES OF FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS"

Since 2014, the International scientific and practical conference "Chemical technology of functional materials" has been held annually in Russia and Kazakhstan in turn, organized jointly by the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry and Novosibirsk State Technical University. This is a major international scientific event aimed at combining efforts and exchanging experience among foreign and Kazakh scientists to discuss and resolve issues in the field of materials science, catalysis, petrochemistry, synthesis of materials, environmental, chemical technologies between the two universities. Every year there is an increasing interest in this conference from not only scientists and young scientists from Russia and Kazakhstan but also from countries near and far abroad, such as Germany, Israel, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Finland, Iran, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. Such fruitful, large-scale work will undoubtedly arouse the enthusiasm of young scientists in science, open the doors to highlight their research and practical work in the field of domestic and foreign education and science, expand the horizons of scientific research, working tirelessly on the scientific path.

This forum is carried out with the direct co-leadership and participation of the Novosibirsk State Technical University (Russia) represented by the permanent initiator and organizer, Professor Nikolai Fastovich Uvarov and the head of the department, Professor Yermek Aitkazynovich Aubakirov. From 2015 to 2019, collections of reports were registered in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) database. Conference proceedings were published in 2020 in Materials Today: Proceedings journal, included in the Scopus database, in 2021 in MATEC Web of Conferences journal (Web of Science database), in 2022 in the Chimica Techno Acta journal (Scopus database).

INTERNATIONAL WINTER SCHOOL "INNOVATIONS IN EDUCATION"

January 10, 2023

Modern university training at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is focused on the introduction and practical implementation of the measures outlined by the Bologna Declaration in order to integrate with the world's educational systems. The tool for entering a single educational space is the transition to a credit system for offsetting educational achievements in order to comply with international standards and quality criteria, recognize diplomas and certificates of specialists graduating from the university. The international school aims to familiarize students with the experience of introducing the credit system into the educational process, tasks and prospects, as well as ways to enhance the cognitive activity of students by improving the methodology for reading the basic lecture course in the discipline "Physical сhemistry" and attracting modern methodologies to university education using the tools of the Kaizen concept.

The winter school was attended by listeners from higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. A total of 118 people participated, including teachers from the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, Navoi Mining and Metallurgical University, Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev. Representatives of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan were also present: Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilyov, South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov, North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozybayev, Almaty Technological University, Karaganda State Technical University named after A. Sagynov, Pavlodar State University named after S. Toraigyrov, Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt ata, South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University, Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi.

The students of the winter school showed particular interest in the issues of the credit system of education, the creation of massive open online courses (MOOCs), as well as the introduction of the Kaizen concept into the educational process, which can become an effective tool for modernizing the activities of universities in the training of specialists.
