As part of the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on attracting foreign professors to teaching activities at the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi KazNU from 9 to 24 October 2018 a professor of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern (Germany) Helmut Sitzmann was invited to give lectures to students of the faculty. He gave lectures on the topics “Inorganic Structural Chemistry”, “Homogeneous Catalysis” and “Elements and Chemicals from Minerals”.

Professor H. Sitzmann is a well-known scientist in the field of coordination, structural chemistry and homogeneous catalysis and was invited to lecture at universities in the UK, France and Korea. He is the author of more than 100 high impact factor papers published in such journals as “Angewante Сhemie”, “Journal of Organometallic Chemistry”, “Organometallics”, “Chemical Review”, “Inorganic Chemistry” with Hirsch Index (h-index), equal to 27. Professor H. Sitzmann is a foreign scientific co-supervisor of PhD doctoral students of the specialty “6D073900-Petrochemistry”.

Students were able to talk with the professor and learn many new things from lecture courses read by Professor Sitzmann Helmut.
