On December 5, 2018, members and head of the literary club “Parasat” of the Department of Pre-University Education of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi - students from Afghanistan and Nursulu Matbek attended the evening of traditional songs “Maida Konyr (Emotional song)”, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the poet, singer and composer Estai Berkimbayuly (1868-1946), held in the concert hall of the Union of Journalists. The concert was organized in the framework of the project “Ruhani zhangyru (spiritual revival)” with the support of the Administration for Religious Affairs of the city of Almaty with the participation of the national-ethnographic association “Adyrna” and the Department of Folk Songs of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory. The host of the evening, a singer and a great patriot of traditional songs, Yerlan Toleutai, also presented interesting information about the history of each song. The visitors of the concert listened to the performance of famous singers and talented students of the Conservatory, who sang 18 songs of Yestay (some of them were performed for the first time). Afghan youth, although the Kazakh dombra have their own characteristics, this musical instrument is well known. Melodious, full of feelings Song Yesta listeners left a huge impression. They received valuable information about the life and work of the Honored Art Worker of Kazakhstan, the talented creator of art Estai Berkimbaiuly.
