Sports and Recreation Center

Sports and Recreation Center is engaged in the recovery of students and university staff, provides training process at the Department of Physical Education, accepts and conducts competitions of any level including 22 kinds of sport. The complex has 7250 sq.m. total area . Own base has significantly raised the mass of sport. There are first successes The skills of boxers, volleyball, basketball, weightlifting, gymnastics and other sports increased.Today, the University offers the following sports facilities:

• stadium with a Seating capacity of 3,000 seats (football field with grass cinders training field; sports core; treadmills with artificial turf);
• football and baseball stadium with a Seating capacity of 300 seats;
• 3 fields for mini-football with artificial turf;2 gyms (the area of each is 680 square meters);
• 6 outdoor tennis courts;
• beach volleyball field;
• 2 rooms to practice athletic gymnastics and aerobics;
• fitness room;
• hall of martial arts, Boxing, wrestling (wrestling Mat, Mat);
• fitness hall for gymnastics;
• facilities for playing chess;
• 2 halls for students of special medical group;
• hall to practice physical therapy;
• two classrooms.

The hostels have:

• 2 volleyball courts;
• Playground for mini - football;
• Game room for basketball at the Chemistry Department;
• Table tennis room.

Sport traditions, established since the early days of KazNUs foundation, are transmitted from generation to generation. All these years our students adequately protected sport honor of the country at the Olympic Games, World Championships, World University Championships in Asia and Europe. University students are engaged in the sections and departments of sports perfection: arm wrestling, badminton, basketball, boxing, volleyball ( 2 offices ) , table tennis , football, indoor soccer, wrestling , kazahsha kures, judo, sambo, karate-do, taekwondo, track and athletics, chess, tennis, kickboxing, darts, qi gong, water polo, a group of "Health" , togyz kumalak , rugby, scientific club "Science and Sports ."

Sport and recreation camp of the Al-Farabi KazNU  Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has a sports camp situated on the shores of lake Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyz Republic. On the territory of the camp is a 5 storey building with 361 rooms. For accommodation one - and two-bedroom, three and four bedroom accommodations with all facilities (Suite, Junior Suite, rooms with private facilities) are provided. Spacious, lit lounges with sofas and armchairs are situated on the floors. The activity of the boarding house for many years is focused on conducting wellness holidays for students and employees of the Al-Farabi KazNU.
