Curatorial hour (cultural and leisure event; educational nature) - "Visit to the Artishok Theater"

The event was held at the Artishok Theater – the first independent theater company of Kazakhstan, founded in 2001 in Almaty.

The event was attended by undergraduates of the scientific and pedagogical direction of the specialty 7M10102 - "Public health".

The performance "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is the first production of the greatest work of the 20th century by Gabriel Jose de la Concordia "Hbo" by Garcia Marquez in Kazakhstan. This is a strange, poetic, bizarre story of the city of Macondo, lost somewhere in the jungle - from creation to decline. This is the story of the Buendia family - a family in which miracles are so everyday that they are not even paid attention to…Here is the "last call", the lights go out in the hall, and the actors appear … From the stage, not by text, but through objects, objects, light, sounds, bodies and music, the creative process of creating a theatrical spectacle began.

The amazing atmosphere, the intriguing, original interior on the stage and the wonderful performance of the actors did not leave everyone indifferent.After the performance, the undergraduates shared their impressions of what they saw. Actively discussed the director's idea, the actors' play and summarized the moral of the plot.

2.12.2020

     Let's introduce you to our team!

   On the remote site, both teachers and students began to need people who can help them switch to online. At the Institute of New Educational Technologies (INOT), our coach Ilya Krugovykh is engaged in such assistance. But this is still an incomplete range of its capabilities! Ilya is an INOT marketing analyst and coordinator of the Digital Volunteers project. We talked to our marketer about distance learning, teachers in the digital world, and the Digital Volunteers project.

    - You train teachers to use digital tools in distance education. What are the most common mistakes teachers make in distance learning?

     - Errors and problems are completely different and very often there is no universal solution for them. The most important thing is not to be afraid to allow them and strive for new things, because the one who does nothing is not mistaken.We should pay tribute to those teachers who are not afraid to learn new, sometimes complex tools and techniques, very often you even meet useful "life hacks" from them

     - Students prefer "distance learning" or full-time training?

     - Students were divided into two camps and the attitude of students to "distance learning" changed over time...from the negative in the beginning to the more positive now (tested on yourself).

   The pandemic has proved that even at such critical moments, the educational process can be rebuilt. Well, there are positive and negative sides to everything, the coin has two sides, as they say. One thing is for sure – when returning to the usual format of training, the use of digital technologies in training will not disappear.

    - Why do students need to become digital volunteers?

  - The volunteer movement, especially during the student years, is a very good opportunity to express yourself, expand your boundaries and get to know other people, while at the same time bringing some benefit to society, even within the university.

     As the great boxer Muhammad Ali said: "The more we help others, the more we help ourselves.“ We all need help sometimes, and in such a difficult period for everyone, it is needed more than ever! The most important thing in this matter is that such assistance should be voluntary and selfless. It was very joyful and pleasant that a large number of KazNU students responded to participate in our project "Digital Volunteers"!

About measures of prevention of SARS, flu and readiness for the epidemic season 2020-2021.

Seasonal flu is an acute respiratory infection caused by influenza viruses that circulate around the world. There are 4 types of seasonal flu viruses-types A, B, C, and D. Influenza a and B viruses circulate and cause seasonal epidemics of the disease.

According to the forecast of the world health organization (hereinafter - who), in the upcoming autumn-winter season 2020-2021, four virus strains will be relevant in the Northern hemisphere - type A/Guangdong-Maonan/SWL1536/2019 (H1N1) pdm09, A/Hong Kong/2671/2019 (H3N2), B/Washington/02/2019 (B/Victoria lineage), B/Phuket/3073/2013 (B/Yamagata lineage), which, on the recommendation of who, were included in the flu vaccine.

Signs and symptoms. Seasonal flu is characterized by a sudden onset of high fever, cough (usually dry), headache, muscle and joint pain, severe malaise, sore throat, and runny nose. The cough may be severe and last for 2 weeks or more. Most people have a normal temperature and symptoms go away within a week without any medical attention.  But the flu can lead to severe illness and death, especially in people at high risk. The disease can occur in both mild and severe forms and even end in death. Hospitalization and death occur mainly in high-risk groups. Most flu-related deaths occur among people aged 65 and older. Epidemics can lead to high levels of absence from work/school and loss of productivity.

Epidemiology. People get the flu at any age, but there are populations at increased risk.

  • · Pregnant women, children under 59 months of age, the elderly, people with chronic health conditions (such as chronic heart, lung and kidney diseases, metabolic disorders, neurological disorders, liver and blood diseases) and people with weakened immune systems (as a result of HIV/AIDS, chemotherapy or steroid treatment, as well as due to malignant neoplasms) are at increased risk of developing severe illness or complications as a result of infection).
  • · Health workers are at high risk of Contracting the flu virus during contact with patients and may contribute to further transmission, especially to people at risk.

Transmission of seasonal flu infection is easy and fast, especially in crowded areas, including schools and boarding schools. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, small droplets containing the virus (infectious droplets) enter the air and can spread up to one meter away and infect people nearby who inhale them. The infection can also be transmitted through hands contaminated with flu viruses. To prevent transmission of infection when coughing, cover your mouth and nose with a napkin and wash your hands regularly.

The time period from infection to disease development, known as the incubation period, lasts about 2 days, but can vary from 1 to 4 days.

Prevention. During the period of rising morbidity, do not forget about General measures of non-specific prevention against SARS, influenza:

- avoid contact with patients with SARS, if contact is not avoided, then you must wear a mask, use oxoline ointment;

- in case of illness, it is necessary to stay at home, do not self-medicate, call a medical professional, wear a mask while in the family or in a team, receive treatment as prescribed by a doctor;

- when sneezing or coughing, cover your mouth with your hand, napkin, or handkerchief, and wash your hands as often as possible;

-  boost the immune system: use vitamin C and other products as recommended by your doctor;

-  keep a distance, reduce attendance at mass events, especially during the rise in the incidence of SARS, flu, ventilate the premises with wet cleaning.

Following these simple rules will help you avoid the incidence of flu and SARS. Currently, the most appropriate non-specific measures to reduce or delay the incidence of pandemic influenza are health measures taken by individuals, such as social distancing, "respiratory etiquette", hand hygiene, and indoor airing.

The most effective way to prevent the disease is vaccination. Safe and effective vaccines have been available and used for more than 60 years. After some time after vaccination, the immune system weakens, so annual vaccination is recommended to protect against the flu. Injectable inactivated influenza vaccines are the most widely used in the world.

Among healthy adults, the flu vaccine provides protection even if the circulating viruses do not exactly match the vaccine viruses. Vaccination is especially important for people at high risk of developing complications, as well as for people who live with or care for people at high risk. Who recommends annual vaccination for the following populations:

  • pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy
  • children aged 6 months to 5 years
  • elderly (over 65 years of age)
  • people with chronic health problems
  • health care workers.

The flu vaccine is designed to protect against viruses that epidemiologists believe will be most active in the upcoming season. Trivalent vaccines, the most common in the world, are used to protect against three flu viruses: two strains A and one B. the Quadrivalent vaccines recommended by who this year are designed to protect against four types of flu-another b virus is added to the previous strains.

Every year, on the territory of the Republic, during the pre-epidemic period, influenza vaccination is carried out for people at risk (medical workers, children registered in dispensaries in medical organizations, children who are often ill over six months old, children from orphanages, children's homes, a contingent of nursing homes and disabled recipients of medical and social institutions, pregnant women in the second or third trimester of pregnancy and for epidemiological indications).

In the city of Almaty, vaccination against influenza of people of the "risk group" began on September 15 and will continue until November 30 this year. Residents of the city who want to get a flu shot can contact private medical centers that have a license to conduct flu shots.

1. General guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19.

The guidelines define precautions for the spread of COVID-19.

1. Wash your hands often with soap and water. Hand hygiene is an important measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. Washing with soap removes viruses. If it is not possible to wash your hands with soap, use alcohol or disinfectant wipes.

2. Cleaning and regular disinfection of surfaces and rooms (tables, doorknobs, chairs, gadgets, etc.) removes viruses. Carry out regular wet cleaning of the room where you are, clean and disinfect surfaces using household detergents. First of all, pay attention to door handles, handrails, tables, chairs, computer keyboards and mice, telephones, control panels, office equipment panels and other items that you touch in everyday life and at work. Keeping surfaces clean is one of the simplest but most important rules! As often and regularly as possible, ventilate the room and humidify the air by any available means in the room where you are.

3. - Avoid close contact with people who appear unhealthy, who have signs of a respiratory infection (eg, coughing, sneezing). Avoid shaking hands and kissing when greeting (until ARI season ends). Remember that respiratory viruses are transmitted from a sick person to a healthy person by airborne droplets (when talking, sneezing, coughing). Therefore, try to maintain a distance of at least 1-1.5 m from persons who have symptoms of a respiratory infection.

4. Observe distance and etiquette. Viruses are transmitted from a sick person to a healthy airborne droplet (when sneezing, coughing), so keep a safe distance from people sneezing or coughing at least 1.5 meters from each other. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with your hands. The coronavirus, like other respiratory diseases, is spread by these routes.

5. Wear a face mask or other available protective equipment to reduce the risk of illness. When coughing, sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with disposable tissues, which should be discarded after use. Avoid unnecessary travel and visits to crowded places, this can reduce the risk of illness.

6. How to wear a mask correctly? Use a medical mask if: you are caring for someone with a respiratory infection, you may be in contact with people with signs of a respiratory infection.

7. IMPORTANT! When using medical masks, the following rules must be followed: Treat hands with an alcohol-based product or wash with soap and water. Holding the mask by the ties or elastic bands, bring it close to the face with the white side inward and fix it with ties (elastic bands) in a position where the lower part of the face is completely covered - both the mouth and the nose. At the end, shape the flexible strip (nose clip) to the desired shape, ensuring a snug fit of the mask to the face. Remove the product, holding the ties (elastic band) at the back, without touching the front of the mask. Dispose of the removed mask in a resealable waste container. Wash hands with soap or alcohol. If necessary, put on a new mask following steps 1-3.

8. IMPORTANT! Use the mask for no more than two hours. Replace the mask immediately if it gets wet (moistened), even if less than two hours have passed since use. Do not touch the fixed mask with your hands. Wash hands thoroughly with soap or alcohol after touching a used or used mask. Disposable masks cannot be reused.

9. What to do if you find symptoms of coronavirus infection with you or a relative living with you? Stay home and see your doctor urgently. First, call the medical facility and report any recent travel or travel contacts (if available). Seeking medical help by phone will allow specialists to promptly refer you to a suitable hospital. It will also help avoid the possible spread of COVID-19. Follow your doctor's orders, stay in bed and drink as much fluids as possible

10. Lead a healthy lifestyle. Maintain a healthy schedule, including adequate sleep, eating foods rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, and physical activity. A healthy lifestyle increases the body's resistance to infection

2. Symptoms and possible complications of COVID-19.

Symptoms of coronavirus infection: high body temperature, chills, headache, weakness, nasal congestion, cough, shortness of breath, muscle pain, conjunctivitis. In some cases, there may be symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Complications of coronavirus infection among complications is viral pneumonia. Deterioration in viral pneumonia occurs at a rapid pace, and many patients develop respiratory failure within 24 hours, requiring immediate respiratory support with mechanical ventilation. Rapidly initiated treatment helps to alleviate the severity of the disease.

Dear university staff and educators! You can protect yourself and those around you if you use verified information about coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and take the necessary preventive measures. Follow local health authority guidelines. ‎

«EASY» LIQUID GLOVES PROJECT WITH THE FACULTY OF CHEMISTRY

Most infectious agents, including Coronavirus COVID-19 infection, enter through droplets of saliva or nasal mucus on surfaces and objects, and then into the human body through subsequent contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth. The virus can remain viable for several hours on the surfaces of objects. On steel surfaces and on plastic, it can last up to 2-3 days. There is the possibility of infection through contaminated hands, food and water, also the virus is also found in blood and saliva. Due to the contact route of transmission of COVID-19, an effective method of preventing infection is the use of personal protective equipment for a long period of time that is safe for health. We offer «EASY» LIQUID

GLOVES

The EASY - concept is based on the values and needs of target groups:

«Ecology» - Environmental friendliness - to achieve a minimum burden on the environment and humans in the production and disposal of liquid gloves

«Accessibility» - Use and accessibility, achieve a change in the behavior of the population towards a health-saving lifestyle, increase its joint and several liability for biosafety and environmental friendliness, through accessibility and ease of use and bio-utilization of liquid gloves

«Save» - Protection, to achieve maximum protection against the penetration of an infectious agent into the human body and environmental protection, through the unique bio-properties of the liquid glove material

«You» - Individuality, achieve single-use, perfect individual size according to the shape of the hand, through the elastic properties of liquid gloves to go into a solid form and acquire the shape of the hand.

05. 11. 2019.

      The number of foreign students is an important indicator of the international recognition and competitiveness of the country and its universities in the international market for educational services. Realizing the need to strengthen Kazakhstan 's position in this market for the first time under the program of the World Bank and the Ministry of Higher Education of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, a large group of doctors of teachers of medical universities arrived in al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Within the framework of the project, the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare of al-Farabi Kazakh National University developed a comprehensive methodology of the educational program on the specialty of master 's degree “Medicine” based on the research of international and Kazakhstani experience taking into account global trends, national policies and practices of leading universities of Kazakhstan and foreign universities in the field of export of educational services.

       Leading teachers, as well as faculty specialists, are involved in the learning process, many of whom have sufficient experience and competence to work effectively and teach foreign students.Along with training, leisure activities for foreign students are organized. These are, of course, well-equipped dormitories, a trip together with an adviser to the sights of Almaty, sports grounds, adaptation system, a single information space, and navigation system in various languages.All this creates a comfortable friendly international environment both inside and outside the university.

     The realization of this goal involves the achievement of the following objectives:

 - Further internationalization of educational programs.

 - Establishment of the university as a recognized subject in the market of educational services and knowledge-intensive developments of the region of Central Asia.

 - Enhancing the linguistic competence of students, masters and university professors.

 - Creation of a friendly atmosphere and comfortable social and living conditions for foreign students, masters, and teachers.

   This is the beginning of long-term cooperation.
