Migration in Eurasia in the context of security and sustainable development: key trends, challenges and prospects for cooperation

On October 28, 2023, the Faculty of International Relations organized a series of lectures by foreign experts participating in the conference “Migration in Eurasia in the context of security and sustainable development: key trends, challenges and prospects for cooperation.” Professor at the Higher School of Economics of the Kyrgyz National University.  Zh. Balasagyna Omurova Saltanat Kairovna gave an open lecture on the topic: “Changing migration trends in Eurasia in new international realities,” where she highlighted issues of modern trends in the field of migration and considered factors influencing labor migration.

                               


During the discussion, Saltanat Kairovna drew attention to the feminization of migration and double discrimination of women as migrants.  The concept of transformation of labor migration into circular labor migration was also revealed. The lecture itself was very lively, given the relevance of the given topic.  
Students, undergraduates, and young scientists actively asked questions and participated in the debate.
