At the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an Olympiad was held among higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic «Creative PR Specialist» in the specialty «Public Relations». The purpose of the event: improving the quality of public relations specialists and identifying talented, educated and excellent students. At the same time, it was necessary to increase the ability of students to think creatively, to determine the level of knowledge of new media of future journalists and public relations specialists adapted to the information age.

The International Scientific and Practical conference "Models of Teaching International Journalism for Sustainable Development (MTIJ)" was held for the seventh time this year at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of Farabi readings. Innovative technologies and products, intercultural discourse and their role in the tense and unstable situation on the planet formed the core of the scientific platform, which brought together the opinions of representatives of international organizations, academic circles and Kazakhstani practitioners.

On February 14, 2023, the UNESCO Department of International Journalism and Communication of the Faculty of Journalism of the Kazakh National University held a meeting to inform applicants for career guidance.

Under the chairmanship of State Counselor of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Karin, a meeting of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ISESCO was held. 

A scientific conference “Kazakh-Hungarian cultural narratives, social and economic diversity” was held in Hungary, organized by the Department of Ethnography of the Doctoral School of History and Ethnography of the University of Debrecen.

The Faculty of Journalism was  сonducted a lecture by special practitioners was held for students. The master class was attended by students of the 1st year 6В03203- "public relations", 6В03202 - international journalism majors and 2-3 year students of the "public relations" groups. The organizer of the workshop is the teacher of the department - Elmira Zhunisova. Yerzhan Baitiles, the Deputy Head of the State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Symbat Tanasheva, the producer of the "Kazakhstan" channel, invited experienced specialists, gave an informative and informative lecture to the participants and answered their interesting questions.

The competition "Ana tili aruy - Zhigit Sultany 2022" was organized by the "Senate" society of the Treasury of Almaty.
