At the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an Olympiad was held among higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic «Creative PR Specialist» in the specialty «Public Relations». The purpose of the event: improving the quality of public relations specialists and identifying talented, educated and excellent students. At the same time, it was necessary to increase the ability of students to think creatively, to determine the level of knowledge of new media of future journalists and public relations specialists adapted to the information age.

At the opening ceremony of the event Mysaeva K.N. wished the participants success in the educational Olympiad.

The students of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov took part in the Olympiad, Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Boketov, Almaty University of Management, University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi. At the first stage, the participants were tested in the subjects «Theory and Practice of PR», «Introduction to Public Relations».

At the second stage, after introducing themselves and their educational institution, each group presented the results of the Personal Brand PR projects. At this stage, importance was attached to the main goal of the project, the effectiveness of the chosen PR technology and the results of the SWOT analysis. In addition, he solved cases on «PR against the crisis». Students did not limit themselves to theory, but performed practical tasks, defended their reports on stage and delighted the audience.

Chairman of the jury, well-known public relations specialist, public relations manager of Kazakhstan Permanent Fund JSC – Aibar Olzhai and jury members, public relations specialist of the AlmaU University – Saltanat Berdikulova, director of the RAMS marketing company - Adilbe Makhmet, senior lecturers of KazNU named after . al-Farabi were Abai Saduakasov and Bayan Musayeva.

After analyzing the results of all stages, the first place was taken by students of KazNU. al-Farabi. Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov and Almaty University of Management took 2nd place, and Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Boketov and University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan took 3rd place.

At the closing ceremony of the competition, the head of the UNESCO Chair in Journalism and Communications Shingisova N.T. delivered a speech and thanked all the participants and their leaders. “We noticed that all the students who took part in the competition are talented students. May the friendship of the participants not be separated! said his wish.

A special tour of the campus was organized for the participants of the competition. They visited the KazNU museum, the Al-Farabi museum and library, the Keremet service center and felt the life of a small town. This event gave young people the opportunity to realize their ideas and establish strong communication with each other. It is clear that then there will be experience in a great life.
