UNWTO training

On 22 of September, 2017 in the library of KazNU named after al-Farabi, in conjunction with the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, a training was held on the topic "Study of the portrait of the tourist of the Great Silk Road and tools for scientific analysis of the tourism industry in Almaty." Speaker was Nikolaus Golfinopoulos, UNWTO tourism expert on Silk Road project, a graduate of Monash University (Australia). All the students were welcome to participate.
The training is the result of the cooperation of the Tourist Information Center and UNWTO, which will conduct a full review of the tourist portrait in Almaty and will develop a framework for strengthening the analysis and development of tourism in Almaty. The UNWTO will also assess the opportunities for creating new jobs and increasing income in the tourism sector in Almaty. The joint study conducted by Visit Almaty and UNWTO will allow megapolis management to plan and implement marketing strategies more efficiently, to create a positive image of the city of Almaty as a tourism and recreation destination, to promote the tourism product of Almaty and Almaty region with the aim of developing inbound tourism and improving the competitiveness of Kazakhstan tourist market abroad.
