The statement purpose of the discipline is to form a complete system of knowledge and practical skills in the field of fundamental principles and leading scientific concepts of tourism, which are the subject of the emerging transdisciplinary scientific branch - tourismology. During the study the discipline, students should develop the following competencies:
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of advanced achievements in tourism, international experience and global scientific trends in tourism;
- discuss and apply their knowledge and understanding through demonstration and substantiation of arguments and decisions in the field of modern problems of tourism;
- analyze, evaluate and synthesize new ideas in the application of fundamental foundations and leading scientific concepts of tourism;
- the ability to comprehend a system of values and knowledge, including facts, opinions, concepts, concepts, theories, principles, concepts, meaningful connections and ideas about the tourist sphere as a global socio-economic managed system formed on the principles of sustainable development;
- the ability to formulate possible future tourism scenarios, understand its global implications for the spheres of modern society, determine the importance of education and study of international experience for a successful career in tourism, the prospects for the development of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) knowledge network in the context of globalization.
