This year, in honor of the 85th anniversary of the foundation of the Department of mechanics and the 95th anniversary of Academician Shakhbaz Alimgereevich Yershin, a special classroom was opened in the building of the Faculty of mechanics and metematics.

Within the framework of these events, the Republican student Olympiad in Mechanics was held on November 24. The subject Olympiad was attended by 54 students studying in the direction of "mechanics" from universities in different regions of the Republic, and 35 students took part in it. 24 students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, 8 students from L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, 3 students from K. I. Satpayev Kazakh National Technical University took part in the Olympiad. The best students won prizes and financial prizes from sponsors.

The results of the Republican student Olympiad were as follows:

2. Eldoskyzy Kuralai ( kaznu) - II place;

3. Askar Zhanerke Zhomartkyzy (kaznu) - II place;

4. Askar Nazerke Zhomartkyzy (kaznu) - II place;

5. Nurbolov Nursultan Nurbolovich (kaznu) - III place;

6. Bolatova Ainur Maratovna ( ENU) - III place;

7. Kabylbek Akerke (kaznu) - III place.
