The results of The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program 2024, supported by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, have been announced. One of the 350 scholarship recipients at the master's and PhD levels from around the world is Abdidin Alina, a first-year master's student in the dual-degree educational program "Mechanics and Energy" at the Mechanics Department of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

As part of the teaching practice of 1st year master students of the specialty "Mechanics and Energy", an open lesson was held for 2nd-year undergraduate students of the specialty "Mechanics" on the topic "Preservation of land ecosystems." A successful event was organized together with adviser Alibaeva Karlygash and with students to plant seedlings of 4 species (chestnut, catalpa, hibiscus, thuja) on the territory of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics.

From April 8 to April 20, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Olivier Botella from the University of Lorraine (France) is visiting the Department of Mechanics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In the framework of a double-diploma master’s program between our two universities, he is delivering lectures to first-year master students (M1) specializing in “7M05405 – Mechanics and Energy”. The lectures are conducted offline and in English, in the disciplines of Numerical Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics. Next year, selected students will have the opportunity to continue in second year of Master (М2) in France with the support of the Abaï-Verne scholarship program.

60 projects took part in the competition of innovative projects of Student Business Incubators, held at KazNU on April 05-11, 2024. According to the results of the competition, the project “Autonomous robot that collects and regulates garbage or other objects” was recognized as the best, and 1st year doctoral student in the specialty “Robotic Systems” Rahmatulla Zangar received a cash prize in the amount of 150,000 tenge and was awarded a special diploma. We congratulate the project leader, teacher of the Department of Mechanics Sagitzhanov Berik and Rakhmatulla Zangar on their victory.

Master students of the 1st year of the educational programme "7M05404 - Mechanics" Alakova A.S., Baizakova A.M., Zhumabaeva T.A. held an open event dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Vasily Antonovich Sapa on the theme "The centenary of Vasily Antonovich Sapa: Life marked by time".

Within the framework of pedagogical practice, a 1st-year doctoral student of the Department of Mechanics, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, specialty "Robotic Systems" D.M. Uypalakova, A.I. Akzholova, B.A. Talpakova conducted in 04.04.2024 an educational lesson on the topic "Сlean water and sanitation".

The Sustainable Development Goals are global goals adopted to protect the globe and maintain peace. The 2030 Sustainable Development Goals will work towards the implementation of 17 goals.

Within the framework of pedagogical practice in 29.03.2024 doctoral student of the 1st year of the Department of Mechanics, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, specialty Robotics Systems Suleimenov M. K. conducted an educational lesson on the topic of one of the 17 sustainable development goals «Sustainable Cities and Settlements».
