Mechanics Olympiad
On December 14-15, 2020, an Olympiad in mechanics among students was held at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. This Olympiad was timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the Department of Mechanics and the 70th anniversary of Professor A. Kaltaev. 42 students took part in the Olympiad. The Olympiad was held online.
According to the conditions of the Olympiad, 2nd year students solved three problems in theoretical mechanics, 3-4 year students solved one problem in theoretical mechanics and two problems in fluid and gas mechanics.
The winners of the Olympiad were awarded with cash prizes and diplomas. The sponsors of the Olympiad were Professor A. Kaltaev and his students.
The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners took place on December 18, 2020 online at an international conference - a seminar dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Professor Kaltaev Aydarkhan.
