On February 5, 2024, the Zh. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and the Almaty University of Management (AlmaU) organized a scientific seminar together with the Scientific Research Center "Written Monuments and Spiritual Heritage" at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

This event became a platform for discussing current research related to the description of medicinal plants in medical treatises of medieval Chagatai languages.

Speaking at the seminar, research worker of the research center "Written Monuments and Spiritual Heritage" N.N. Kairanbayeva read a report on the topic "Description of medicinal plants in the medical treatises of the medieval Chagatai languages". Her report on this topic aroused the interest of participants who asked questions about the characteristics of medicinal herbs in medieval manuscripts.

These types of events are organized by the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines of the Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University., School of Politics and Law, School of Health Sciences monthly under the joint project of Scientific online seminars on social and humanitarian research in medicine of KazNMU/AlmaU.

Scientists from Russia, Kazakhstan, and foreign countries engaged in research within the sociology of medicine, history of medicine and medical anthropology and related disciplines present reports and organize presentations of books and articles.

Zauresh Arstambekovna Nagaibayeva, head of the department of history of Kazakhstan and social and humanitarian disciplines of the Kazakh National Medical University named after Zh. Asfendiyarov, expressed her interest in cooperation with the Scientific Research Center "Written Monuments and Spiritual Heritage" as part of the development of the history of Kazakh medicine.

Also, Vera Aleksandrovna Smirnova, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Politics and Law at AlmaU, emphasized the importance of this topic and expressed gratitude to the guests for their participation and hope for further joint cooperation.

The seminar not only became a platform for the exchange of scientific experience and knowledge, but also contributed to the expansion of scientific dialogue and strengthening of inter-university cooperation in the field of medical research.
