In line with the overarching goal of "quality education" outlined among the 17 main directions of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Winter School lecture series on "From Turkestan to Anatolia: Continuity of Civilization" is being conducted by the Turksoy department Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The program, scheduled from January 22 to February 2 of the 2023-2024 academic year, aims to deepen the understanding of Turkic civilization, national values, linguistic connections, characteristics, and classification among students, undergraduates, and doctoral candidates at Istanbul University.

           The curriculum includes insightful lectures from esteemed educators such as N.K. Ilyas, Senior Lecturer at the Turksoy Department, discussing "The Role of Turkey in Central Asia"; E.A. Kuanyshbaev, PhD, Senior Lecturer, presenting on "Turks of Central Asia who Contributed to Turkish Turkology"; Z. Shadkam, Associate Professor, shedding light on "Description of Historical Turkish Texts in the Rare Books Department of the Library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University"; G.K. Temenova, PhD, Senior Lecturer, exploring "Colonization of Kazakhstan by Russia and Reform Movements"; N. Kairanbaeva, PhD, Senior Lecturer, sharing insights on the "Method of Teaching the Kazakh Language to Turkish Students"; A.A. Kurmanali Chakirogly, PhD, M.O. Professor, discussing "Spiritual Values in the Poetry of Khoja Ahmed Yassaui and Yunus Emre"; Hayat Aras, Associate Professor, delving into "Disappearing Turkic Languages"; N.M. Shuinshina Meta, Senior Lecturer, presenting on the "Research of Kazakh Fairy Tales"; K.B. Zhanataeva, Senior Lecturer, and E.A. Montanay, Teacher, focusing on the "Research of the Turkic States of the Union of Integration." Additionally, E. Dulaeva, Senior Teacher, will conduct a lecture on "Technological Tools Used in Teaching the Turkish Language to Foreigners in Kazakhstan."

           Beyond imparting valuable knowledge on language, literature, folklore, history, and culture of Turkic countries and Kazakhstan, the Winter School aims to foster stronger educational and scientific ties between Istanbul University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
