Citizens of Kazakhstan celebrated “Thanksgiving Day” for the first time in 2016. On January 14, 2016, the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, N.A. Nazarbayev, signed № 173 declaring March 1 as Thanksgiving Day in the country, also the day of formation of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Thanksgiving Day is a day of respect for all citizens of our country, who shoulder to shoulder overcame difficult times on the way to the creation of Independent Kazakhstan.
On the occasion of Thanksgiving Day, March 1, a festive evening called “Gratitude and Appreciation” was held with the participation of the faculty of the Turks Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and 3rd year students. At the event, 3rd year students expressed their gratitude to the teachers of the department and presented flowers. Also, the senior lecturer of the department, a representative of the Turkish diaspora, candidate of pedagogical sciences Elnara Zilpikarovna Dulaeva expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the people of Kazakhstan. The cultural event continued with games, poems and songs of 3rd year students.
